The first step toward beginning your education at EKU is to apply for admissions. Whether you’re a first-time freshman, transferring, pursuing graduate studies, or enrolling in a fully online program, you’ll find the information you need to get started here. The application can be completed online in less than 10 minutes. Plus, there’s no application fee and test scores are optional, even for most scholarships!
Will you be coming to EKU as a first-time freshman? If so, you’ll need to apply for undergraduate admissions. Your path to becoming a Colonel is just a few steps away.
To Apply
- Fill out the free online application
- Submit your high school transcripts to the Office of Admissions.
- Submit ACT or SAT scores (not required, but encouraged for determining appropriate course placement).
Need to update your original application entry term or major? Login to your portal and complete the application update form.
Admission Eligibility
All students must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale:
- 2.5 or higher cumulative high school GPA (unweighted) for standard admission
- 2.00 - 2.49 cumulative high school GPA (unweighted) for Success First admission
After You Apply
- Submit your FAFSA beginning October 1
- Send your final high school transcript after you’ve graduated
Transfer your college credits to finish your degree at EKU! If you have earned 23 or fewer hours of college credit since high school graduation, or have earned (or are in progress of earning) 24 or more credit hours at another institution, you’ll be considered a transfer student at EKU.

- Send us your high school transcript (if you have 23 or fewer credit hours)
- Send us your official transcripts from each accredited university you attended, including dual credit from high school
Admission Eligibility

good academic and financial standing at their previous institution.
EKU’s online degree programs provide access to the same EKU courses, from the same
distinguished professors in a user-friendly remote learning environment. Most
importantly, a degree earned through EKU Online holds the same reputation
for quality as our on-campus degrees. And the admission requirements are the
same, whether enrolling in courses online or on campus.

- Provide official undergraduate transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended
- If you’ve earned fewer than 24 college-level transferable credit hours since completing high school or a GED, provide your high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores

- Provide official undergraduate transcripts (if not an EKU graduate)
- Submit letters of recommendation, if required for the academic program

- April 1 for the following summer semester
